JUST ONE PLEASE

The boys came home from Home Teaching last night.  I asked them if I could take just one nice picture of the two of them together.
(It's a lot to ask, I know)

10 minutes later...I had my shot.
(good grief)

DAY 9 OF MONO

I keep thinking her illness will get better from here.  Last night I was at the kid's high school basketball tournament.  I left Stevie at home with a friend who came to stay with her so I could go to the games.  When I arrived home a few hours later her face and throat area were noticeably swollen and she had hives all over.  Her temperature was above 102 and she was just plain miserable so I took her back to the ER.
The ER put an IV back in and loaded her with fluids, steroids and pain meds.
Five hours later we were back out the door, heading home.
Unlucky for Stevie, she has a more severe case of mono than usual.  I'm just hoping it doesn't keep her down for too long.

BROTHERS

These two go together.

I'm grateful for the relationship that they have.
Their love is strong.

DOWN AND OUT

Happy Vacation to Stevie.  She's had 7 days of high fevers and so I finally took her in to be seen last night.  We waited in "fast track" for almost two hours before a doctor finally came in to see her.  After observing and gathering a history, he decided it would be best to move her over to the "emergency side" of the hospital.
The doctor on the emergency side ordered blood work, urine and had an IV put in for hydration.  After waiting a few more hours, the blood work came back positive for Mono.  Bummer.
She's been put on bed rest for a few weeks which means no basketball.
Feel better soon Stevie!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2012

Look at our growing family!
It makes me smile to see us all together.
After a lovely Christmas morning at home, we piled into the car - still in our jammies - and traveled two hours south to visit Ben.  I can't believe this is our third Christmas without him.
Merry Christmas in heaven Benny!  We love and miss you!!!
